Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and White Cat Cloud Inc. (“we”) about your use of Brief. By creating an account you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Who can use Brief
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement.
- Brief is offered in the United States, with a US phone number.
- One account per person. Your profile must be you: real selfies taken in the app, your real age.
- You may not use Brief if you have been convicted of a sexual or violent offense, or if we have removed you before.
How Brief works
Brief shows you people who match what you are both looking for. When two people like each other they match and can arrange an 87-second video call. After the call each person answers yes or no; only two yeses connect you, and only then can you send messages. A no, at any point, ends the match for good. Calls are never recorded.
How to behave
Be honest and respectful. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, intimidate or stalk anyone, or send unwanted sexual content;
- show nudity or sexual acts on a call, or expose anyone who has not agreed to it;
- record, screenshot or share another person's face, call or messages;
- impersonate anyone, misrepresent your age or identity, or use someone else's photos;
- ask for money, promote services, solicit, or use Brief for any commercial purpose;
- use Brief for anything illegal, including sex work or trafficking;
- scrape, automate, reverse engineer or interfere with the app or its servers.
Report anyone who breaks these rules from the ⋯ menu on their profile, in a call or in a conversation. We review reports and may warn, suspend or remove accounts.
Your safety
We do not run criminal background checks on members, and we cannot guarantee who anyone is or how they will behave. Take care when you meet someone in person: meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and never send money to someone you met on Brief.
Your content
You own what you put on Brief — your selfies, your profile text and your messages. You give us a limited license to store and show it to the people Brief shows you to, only to run the service. You are responsible for what you share.
Plans and payments
- Brief is free to use. Paid plans add more likes, calls and features. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Brief and Brief Travel are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase, and again at the start of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before it ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your device's Settings, under your Apple account's Subscriptions.
- Tonight (72 hours) and My City (7 days) are passes that do not renew.
- Purchases are made through Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- Nothing you buy can undo another person's no, show you who liked you, or get around anyone else's limits.
Ending your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in Settings.
Disclaimers and limits
Brief is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the service or about other members, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the conduct of anyone you meet through Brief. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Brief after that means you accept it.
